Is the team still supporting this software?

Post by muppets4 » Fri Jan 17, 2020 11:48 am

The last update is from may 2019. The last newsposting on the main site is from that time also. There is no employee to be seen on this forums. This leaves me to think they are abandoning this software. Am I wrong TV Mosaic team?

It has been discussed here:

Main support is by email/ticket-system, and not this forum any more - unfortunately.

That does not answer the question of a lack of updates.....

So ...which SW could be an alternative if there is no further support?

There are a couple of options

First is NextPVR : https://www.nextpvr.com/
This has sort of the opposite pay structure of TVMosaic. With NextPVR the Server and PC based software is free but the Android client has a small charge of $6.99. There is no client for Amazon Fire OS devices however the Android client can be made to work but it requires side loading the app, and a couple of Google Services and even then depending on which gen your Fire device is it may have interlacing issues. You could as an alternative use this free back end and Kodi as the front end all for free.

Another option is Plex: https://www.plex.tv
Plex is probably the best, most professional solution, but it is also the most expensive. You will be shelling out $5/mo subscription, OR $40/yr subscription , OR $120 One Time lifetime subscription to use the live TV and PVR features.

There is also Emby: https://emby.media/
This is a lot like Plex and has a similar cost structure.
