How to handle a DVB-C channel list update - solved (stupid me)

Post by Spip » Tue May 28, 2019 5:48 pm

Hi guys

My local cable TV provider changes some of the offered TV channels from time to time.

How do I update the channel list without starting from zero (channel order, channel logos, renaming of some of those)? If I try a new search, the client states that this has been done before, my only known possibilty is to delete and start a new search with the above mentioned work load following.

My setup: TV-Mosaic running on a Synology DS 214+ and a Digital Devices "OctopusNET M4" as TV server (four tuners used for this DVB-C cable TV provider).

Thank you very much for your support!

Define "new search" ?

For my DVB-C provider changes, I only do a "Rescan" (left from the "Remove" tuner button). In case there is a provider name change of a channel, a "Rescan" changes the name of those channels only, leaving my logo/favorites/EPG assignments in place.

I never change channel names or channel numbers of my DVB-C source, so that I can always check with an online provider channel list, if TVMosaic has scanned all available channels of my subscription package. For ordering of channels, I prefer categorized favorites lists, instead of re-numbering channels, which I found impractical on the long term (check with online provider channel list becomes a pain in the ...)

So try a "rescan" and before doing that, make a backup first, so you can always revert the Rescan changes.

Dear Montoya

It is a bit embarrassing but I have not yet visually perceived the button, that was what I was looking for and my problem is solved.

Thank you very much for your support, even if it was obviously stupid of me!
