Can't get https connection to mosaic

Post by Victor Max » Sun May 26, 2019 10:04 am

Hello,

Installed the latest build, installed an third party SSL certificate on the Mosaic tv server, opened ports 9370-9371 in the firewall of the Mosaic tv server but still can't connect on port 9370.. the url I use is https://<ip-address-tv-server>:9370/web.

Port 9270 works fine with http://<ip-address-tv-server>:9270/web

Also on the tv-server itself with https://localhost:9370/web we can't connect..

Any suggestions?

Regards, Victor

This could be the 'tricky' one: Installing certificate for use with TVMosaic

We have a commercial (third party) certificate *.cer and *.pfx, should I create an *.pem out of these files? and place it in the designated folder?
Do you know how we can create such an *.pem out of an commercial certificate?

With netstat I saw now that ports 9370-9371 aren't published (listening) on the mosaic server, can it be that this will be the case when an valid *.pem file has been found in the folder?

I'm also not happy TVMosaic not supporting pxf yet, but it's up to DVBLogic updating the Wiki with some more "How-to's" setting up secured access covering your question.

You're right Montoya, I was 'spot on' with my last remark..

There has to be an .pem file in the C:\ProgramData\DVBLogic\TVMosaic\data\ssl\ folder for activating ports 9370-9371! To create such a .pem file you can find enough information on the Internet.

We created the .pem file and placed it into the above folder and after restarting the mosaicserver service the ports came alive!
I don't know why this information isn't in the Wiki but in my opinion it should..

To those who can't get the SSL ports working:
Create the .pem file with the information from the Wiki https://wiki.tv-mosaic.com/index.php/Ho ... e_Internet with information from this site https://www.digicert.com/ssl-support/pe ... eation.htm
Place the .pem file into C:\ProgramData\DVBLogic\TVMosaic\data\ssl\
Restart the mosiac server service on the computer
voila the SSL ports 9370-9371 come alive!

Montoya thanks for pointing me to the right direction..
