0 Byte recordings on consecutive schedules

Post by crowtheri » Tue Oct 08, 2019 7:15 pm

Hi there,

DVBLink & TVMosaic was a stable system for me for a long time, with which I never had any problems (except for dropouts in playback with a Kodi client).

With the latest versions, however, I have problems with recordings, resulting in 0 byte files and too short recordings. The last recordings I have scheduled include (two) consecutive broadcasts. The result is unfortunately a too short recording of the 1st file and a broken following one (0 Byte)

My system is as follows:

Server Hardware: Synology DS216j (DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 3)
Server Version: 1.0.0_b17707
Recording HW: PCTV 461e DVB-S2 (USB 3.0)

Client: Windows 7 x64 (1.0.0_b17679)

Log file attached

Is this a common issue with the latest builds? The recorder is set to start 2min earlier and 3min later than the schedule but this was never a problem in the past.

Thanks for any support!

Best regards,
crowtheri

Is there somebody with an identical setup (PCTV 461 running on a Synology NAS) who could confirm the problem with consecutive recordings on the same channel/transponder?

Best,

Hi,

I have the "0 byte problem with consecutive recordings" as well.

Setup: Synology D115j, TV Mosaic 1.0.0 build 17707, Tuner: HD Home Run

Thanks
Jasper

Hi Jasper,

the support team tried a lot things to find the root cause for that problem but in the end it seems the device (USB tuner PCTV 461e) itself was broken. I exchanged it against a Sat>IP receiver (Xoro 8100) and have no more problems since then.

Thanks for getting back to this.
@Jasper, what provider do you use? Often 0 bytes recordings are caused by not decrypting the stream
