Integrating with Plex or Emby

Post by red5ive » Sun Oct 06, 2019 12:33 pm

I have an old HTPC that I used to use DVBLink and Windows media center back in the day to get live TV via a satellite feed.
It has a couple of Hauppauge Nova HD S2 cards. I also have an Xbox One and Xbox 360 I would like to use.

I want to resurrect the setup and hope to be able to use it with TV Mosaic and either Plex or Emby to get live TV and listings to all devices.
I know that there is a TVMosaic plugin for Emby that seems to be supported. If I combined that with a TV adviser subscription would the listings come through to Emby/Plex?

My preferred method would be via Plex because of the the wider choice of streaming and device support + easier setup but they don't support my cards (or any DVBS ones it seems) Can TV Mosaic be used to create virtual tuners for it?

Any help greatly received!
Steve

Directly:
Emby yes (with plugin or by going the m3u tuner route in Emby with direct xml export from TVMosaic)
Plex no, you probably need xTeVe for that or some similar proxy tool.

Don't know your region, but Emby provides Gracenote EPG data for US and UK, that's included now with a Emby Premiere subscription.
