IPTV playlist - Channel number and recording conflict alert

Post by Amatøren » Fri Apr 06, 2018 11:17 am

Well, after the tip about setup Enigma2 STB as IP source by creating a playlist for all channels I want to record from, I have started to create a script for generating playlist and EPG (xml file) direct from my STB. I will run it as a cron job.

Is it any way that I can define channel number in the playlist so the TV Mosaic can pic up the sort order?

My STB has 4 tuners. Shall I then configure 4 IPTV sources and how will that looks in the guide? I don't want 4 enteries with NRK1, 4 with NRK2,........

Will it be a channel merge as it is in DVBLink?

Will it also have a recording conflict alert (as I have in Windows 7 Media center) so it don' try to start 5 or 6 ..... recordings?

As long as you use the same playlist for all your IPTV sources, TVMosaic will automatically recognize it and merge all channels automatically.

Thanks, great!

And sort order (channel numbering) do I have to do it all manually?

And recording conflicts.....?

Channel numbers have to be entered manually. IPTV playlist has no provision for that, unfortunately.
There is an outstanding feature request for custom tvmosaic channel number tag in m3u playlist.
I think that we can pick up on it for the next update as long as we agree on the tag name and format.

That feature request is buried already on page 5 of the TVMosaic forum section.

Can you move that topic @Oberon to the "Feature request" forum, so other users can find it more easily ?

Moved the topic.
The thing is that I am hesitant to use channel-id as a tag for channel number, because it is not what it is. If we do that we will be misusing the tag.
I would rather go with smth. like tvg-num for channel number and tvg-type for channel type (radio vs. tv, which is also missing)
