Re: Synology DS218+ transcoding issues

...yes, as Thun says, what is "a long time"? The call TV Mosaic is making to ffmpeg is: /volume1/@appstore/TVMosaic/data/common/ffmpeg/ffmpeg -y -i pipe:0 -f mpegts -acodec aac -vcodec libx264 -preset veryfast -bf 0 -async 1 -r 25 -g 25 -profile:v baseline -ar 48000 -ac 2 -b:a 128k -vf scale=min(iw\...

Re: Synology DS218+ transcoding issues

Is QNAP any better at providing ffmpeg source code, where they have added hardware transcoding support?

What is TV-Mosaic's recommendation for buying a NAS? If none of my tests work, I will return the DS218+...

Re: Synology DS218+ transcoding issues

Hmm, ok. I will also send an email, like the other user did, to Synology. The SynoCommunity claims to have compiled ffmpeg with hardware decoding support for various Intel CPUs including apollolake (the one in the DS218+) as well as evansport. The repo: https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc Their ...

Re: Synology DS218+ transcoding issues

My reasoning for thinking this model would work well for transcoding can also be seen in this thread: https://forum.tv-mosaic.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=142 Here, referring to the DS218 (none-plus version) Oberon says that the x86 (not ARM) Synology models are required for hardware transcoding. I susp...

Synology DS218+ transcoding issues

I've purchased a Synology DS218+, advertised with 4K H.264/H.265 hardware transcoding, along with a TV Butler, to try and get better transcoding performance than my old i7 Windows 10 machine. The DVBLink wiki states: "Synology DS214Play and DS415Play NAS models use Intel Evansport CPU, which is capa...

Re: TVMosaic not launching in Windows 10

Ok, I determined the issue. It is because of my graphics card, the Intel HD 3000. This is crappy integrated hardware, and pretty old, but it is one of the most used gpus of all time. I found out by switching to an Nvidia graphics card (my laptop has two gpus).

Re: TVMosaic not launching in Windows 10

Running as administrator does not make a difference. Nor does running in compatibility mode (Windows 7).

TVMosaic not launching in Windows 10

I just upgraded to TVMosaic from DVBLink. The install seemed to go fine. When I try to open the application, it doesn't seem to launch properly - there are some weird graphical effects where I think the application window should be. I made a quick screen capture of the issue here: https://www.youtub...

Upgrade offer for DVB-Link customers

I am considering the €20 upgrade offer for DVB-Link customers. Just to be absolutely sure, this upgrade is to TV-Mosaic Plus, right?
